About

Cody Hall

I'm a data engineer and developer focused on investigative research tooling and public-interest technology. My work sits at the intersection of journalism, data infrastructure, and edge computing.

Most of my projects involve processing large volumes of public records — IRS filings, corporate registrations, campaign finance data — and making them queryable and useful for researchers and journalists who need to understand complex networks.

I build almost exclusively on Cloudflare's edge platform: Workers for compute, D1 for relational storage, KV for caching, and Queues for async processing. The combination eliminates infrastructure overhead while giving global distribution and production-grade reliability from day one.

Before focusing on software, I worked in journalism and policy research, which shapes how I think about what data systems are for: they should make complex information accessible to people who need to act on it, not just store it.

Based in New York. Open to consulting on investigative data infrastructure, research platform builds, and data journalism tooling.
